This year during Art Basel Okuda will paint a mural at Wynwood with different visual elements that want to express the exotism of each one of us and to extract what we have in common and we find in everyone, a creative approach that seeks the essence underlying in every individual through a multicolored skin portrait that represents some how “different origins, but the same skin”. The portrait will be completed with my iconic Kaos Star, depicting a colourful and asymmetric compass that come to say that it doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing, the only important direction is to have your own references to achieve your goals. A statement of individual freedom and optimism in this multi-cultural world we are living in.
Okuda is pretty happy to have been chosen by Citibikes to show my work all around the city of Miami over their bikes and stations. His artwork has already been over different vehicles like trucks (Truck Art Project), trains (Ukranie project), mortorbikes (Cafe Racer Dreams) and boats (Streets of Colour), bur never before over a fleet of bicycles. Promoting new contexts for people to access art is always positive.
